WHAT IS HAKIA?
hakia is a general purpose "semantic" search engine, dedicated to quality search experience.
WHAT IS DIFFERENT ABOUT HAKIA?
hakia is focused on bringing quality results via its semantic search technology. Today's search engines bring popular results via statistical ranking methods. Popular results are not always quality results, and the searchers suffer in many ways ranging from wasted search time to using misleading information.
WHAT DEFINES A QUALITY RESULT?
Quality result satisfies three criteria simultaneously: It (1) comes from credible sources (verticals) recommended by librarians, (2) is the most recent information available, and (3) is absolutely relevant to the query.

Semantic search technology enables accurate retrieval of information via concept/meaning match. It is very effective, and perhaps the only method, in application to credible and dynamic content. STATUS
hakia.com search engine is currently operating in BETA mode while the development and analysis are underway. We are currently QDEXing credible content in verticals such as medicine, finance, law, science, travel, arts, history, as well as other content-rich topics.
hakia's language coverage is primarily English. However, the coverage of Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Polish, and Turkish is underway. Eventually, we plan to cover all languages spoken by significant number of people.
HAKIA'S BUSINESS
hakia generates revenue primarily by advertisement via third party partners. Advertisements are clearly marked on hakia pages and located only on blue shaded areas. We will soon offer advertising opportunities via our own advertisement platform called "hakia Semantic Advertising."
