"new ways of using the Web"
This page describes Web services of hakia besides its main search engine at hakia.com. These services help the user in many search related Web operations as part of the overall semantic search concept. If you encounter any problems using these services, please contact our
customer support.
Meet Others "who asked the same query" is a new social networking service that connects people through their common search queries. Participation is voluntary and anonymous (by default).

How does it work?
Go to hakia.com and submit a query like
Has anyone seen Dane Cook commercials?. Then follow the MEET OTHERS link to jump to a room of people who asked the same query. If the room is empty, you can create this room and be the first to post a message. You can also go directly to meet.hakia.com and search for matching queries.
Flexibility
hakia offers flexibility to form meeting rooms for your highly specific queries, such as in the example "Has anyone seen Dane Cook commercials?". Other social networking systems expect you to fit in their design of rooms (categories) that may be Dane Cook, or Comedians.
No Registration Required
To view the rooms or to post messages, there is no registration required. The posting process requires email confirmation for authentication.
Anonymous by Default
If you post a message and want to be contacted, the email contact is done over hakia's network using anonymous addresses (such as 2343t65@hakia.com). Your authentication email will never be displayed on any hakia.com site, nor will it be used for any purpose other than visitors contacting you. And remember, you can choose not to be contacted at all.
Instant Messenger Contacts
If you chose to be contacted via instant messenger software like MSN or SKYPE, it is your option to do so. In this case, your IM identity will be visible on the Web page.
Removing Your Message
You can remove your posted message from the system by following the link provided next to your posted message.
Voting and Expiration
Messages can be voted by others for their appeal and quality. Your posted message will expire when the room fills up and your message has the lowest vote.
Restrictions
You cannot post more than 5 messages in a single room during a 24 hour cycle.
Privileges for the Members of the hakia Club
hakia Club members are allowed to post images, hotlinks, and videos. Stay tuned for hakia Club announcements.
Abuse Control
Each message has a link to report abuse. hakia's system administrators will review abuse notifications and take the necessary actions. Abusers will be rejected for further participation. Based on hakia's terms and conditions, abusers' information may be shared with the law enforcement agencies.
